How to Layout Book & Magazine in Photoshop - Basic Tutorial For Beginners

Throughout my continued research on the best form of media to use for my project, I have determined that creating a book to showcase the program would be ideal. This is due to the vast amount of restrictions in place at a maximum security facility. Since I have access to Photoshop on my personal laptop, I decided that may be the best platform to continue my project on. The video above is one I found on YouTube that is a tutorial on how to layout book pages on Photoshop. Since I have never designed something like this, this tutorial was really helpful by breaking down everything for me. I think the biggest thing I am taking away from this video is using grid lines to organize the layout. It will also help me to determine where to put images, text, etc. I do think that I will be utilizing a lot of empty space within my project though, so the layout will be a lot more minimalistic than in the video.

Things to consider:

• Black and white theme
• Abstract, minimal art
• Empty space to convey isolation
• Using impactful quotes, large font, handwritten font
• Convey anonymity
